About

My Journey and Mission

Disability shaped my own educational experiences. As a disabled, chronically ill, and neurodivergent student, I felt like I had to fight my way through school. I was “gifted” and had a strong desire to learn, yet I constantly had to surpass obstacles to just keep my head above water.

In college, I began to envision a new kind of educational support service— one which would provide comprehensive mentoring and coaching for ambitious students with disabilities to become savvy students, fierce self-advocates, and balanced, poised leaders in their chosen field.

After earning my degree in Human Developmental Sciences, focusing on adolescent development and psychology, I pursued my Master’s Degree in Education at the University of California, San Diego. During my time at the university, I worked with over 200 students in middle school, high school, and university settings.

After completing my MEd, I began to hone my identity and approach as an educational therapist, private educational consultant, and academic coach. I have since worked with a diverse clientele of wonderful students, who have a wide variety of life experiences, challenges, and gifts. I have experience working with students with a variety of disabilities, including, but not limited to, ADHD, autism, processing disorders, anxiety, OCD, memory impairments, hearing impairments, and health challenges. I am also proud to work for the San Diego Community College District, where I have collaborated with faculty and staff to develop innovative programming to support students with disabilities.
